The customer already had their own internal design. The gearboxes were optimized by KACHELMANN GETRIEBE in order to meet the demands of the weather conditions on site of down to -50 degrees Celsius, as well as the heavy stress from the operating personnel.
The custom design as double bevel gearbox enabled turning the snow clearing attachment without the turning the entire locomotive.
