Project description:
The 500 hp gearbox is the oldest KACHELMANN GEARBOX still in use in Germany. It was developed and manufactured by Jakob Kachelmann und Sohn in 1948. At that time, the company was still based at Geyerswörth in Bamberg city centre. Like many companies at the time, Kachelmann also utilised the water power of the local mills to drive its machines.
In the 1960s, the company then moved to its current headquarters in Strullendorf near Bamberg.
Work carried out:
Gearbox removed, completely dismantled at the Kachelmann factory, gearing parts reworked, housing measured and reworked, roller bearings renewed, assembly, test run.
Duration of work: 2 weeks
