Project description:
One of the 800 kg spur gearboxes is mounted on the left and one on the right of the lock gate. The gearboxes move the lock gates, which weigh several tonnes, synchronously upwards or downwards, each with an output of 20 kW. The gearboxes have to overcome both the enormous water pressure that is generated during each lock operation and the dead weight of the lock gate. The task of the Kachelmann team was to realise these high requirements.
