KACHELMANN GETRIEBE at the Erfurt Montessori School

Again in 2013 the Kinderuni (“children’s university) started at the Erfurt Montessori School

Along with numerous opportunities, such as “At the locksmith”, “What does an architect do?” or “What is Europe?” there was also for the first time in 2013 the gearbox workshop for children “How is a gearbox made?” from KACHELMANN GETRIEBE.

In groups of mixed ages from 6 to 10 years the students explored what a gearbox can do and how it is made.

Working to the motto of Maria Montessori “Help me do it myself”, their own drive models were developed and built. During this time the young future engineers not only dealt with and analysed helical bevel gear combinations, but also axis deviations and transmission ratios.

Every gearbox “made by myself” withstood the test run with a 10 watt motor.
